Who is EFRO Oost 2026 for?

EFRO Oost is intended for collaborating SMEs in the East of the Netherlands (Gelderland and Overijssel). SMEs collaborating with large companies or knowledge institutions can also apply.

Goals of EFRO Oost 2021-2027

• Increasing the earning capacity of Eastern Dutch businesses
• Strengthening regional innovation ecosystems
• Contributing to energy transition solutions
• Stimulating collaboration between SMEs, large companies and knowledge institutions

Main conditions

• Collaboration is required: at least one partner
• The project must take place in Gelderland or Overijssel
• The project fits within the Regional Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialisation (RIS3)
• The project contributes to at least one of the programme priorities

Subsidy amount

EFRO Oost works with EU co-funding. Generally the subsidy rate is between 35% and 50% of eligible costs. The programme runs until 31 December 2026 with multiple application windows during the year.

Combining EFRO Oost with other subsidies

EFRO is an EU fund and cannot be stacked with other EU subsidies on the same costs. Combining with national tax schemes such as WBSO is allowed. For demonstration and pilot see DEI+.
