What is the SME Digitalisation and Robotisation 2.0 grant?

The Digitalisation and Robotisation 2.0 grant is a grant opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises in the Northern Netherlands. Part of the European Just Transition Fund, this scheme supports manufacturing companies in Groningen and Emmen as they transition toward more sustainable, efficient operations through digitalization.

The subsidy offers up to €100,000 per company with a 50% reimbursement rate. This means if you invest €200,000 in eligible digitalization or robotization projects, you could receive €100,000 back.

The scheme covers two distinct types of investments. First, it funds strategic advisory reports from independent experts who can assess your digitalization or robotization needs and create an actionable implementation plan. Second, it supports the actual purchase and implementation of hardware and software that digitalizes or robotizes your production processes.

Beyond the direct financial benefit, this subsidy helps manufacturing SMEs improve production efficiency, create cleaner and less physically demanding work environments, and strengthen their competitive position. For companies in food processing, automotive parts manufacturing, construction, or technical services, this represents a significant opportunity to modernize operations while reducing investment costs.

Your company must be a registered small or medium-sized enterprise operating in the process and manufacturing industry. Specifically, your business activities should fall under SBI codes 10-35 (manufacturing), 41-43 (construction), or 72 (technical research and development).
